Many people ask me where my favourite lake is or what my best trip ever was or most commonly, what is my all time favourite fly-in fishing lodge. These are all tough questions because I do get to travel a lot and I’ve seen most regions of Canada in the last eight years of taping shows. After traveling to over 125 locations, I’ve experienced some seriously amazing fishing … But, if I had to pick one American Plan lodge that stands out from the crowd, I would have to say that Yellow Dog Lodge is my number one choice.
RD, “The Rugged Dude” is host of Officially Rugged with RD seen by millions of viewers from all around North America. Read the whole story
Yellow Dog Lodge is one of my top 3 recommended lodges!
John and the crew take the Wings Over Canada Cessna 185 to the Northwest Territories, checking into Yellow Dog Lodge as it opens up for its second day of business. You'll meet Gord and Kathy Gin, who left urban life behind to fulfill their dream of opening a lodge in the great Canadian wilderness. Catch John's "Top 10 Wish List for a Wilderness Lodge".
John Lovelace was host of "Wings Over Canada" when his team recorded an episode of the show featuring Yellow Dog Lodge in June 2006. Watch for us on TV in re-runs Click on link to see it over the web.

Wonderful family vacation for our party of 8. Representing 3 generations of Smith family males.

The Smith entourage wants to thank you, Garrett, and Heddy once again for our delightful time at the Yellow Dog Lodge. It will be lodged in the memories of all of us, perhaps especially in those of the youngest "men", Quincy and Logan. Our trip back was uneventful despite the necessity of taking 4 successive flights (including that to Yellow Knife). Good luck in the future of the Lodge. It is an incomparable place. We would be happy to serve as references, if that is useful in the future.
Best wishes,
Holly

As always, this trip is one of the highlights of my summer. Gord, Heddy, Jonathan and Garrett, took such great care of us ... and Casey too! Miss Kathy though.
Thanks Gord, Heddy, Jonathan and Garrett for being great hosts, I had a fantastic time. I am going to steal your shore lunch fish receipe. Yummy. Thanks again.
I haven't had fish cooked over and open fire in 15 years!!! It was awsome! Thanks Gord , Heddy Jon and Garrett for "BEST" time ever!!! I will be back! Sunrise Kareoke sounds great.
Spectacular! I will definitely recommend to anybody that asks. Jonathan was a great guide and hopefully helped me win our fishing derby with "probably" a 30 lb lake trout. Thanks for letting me sing Kareoke into the wee hours. Have a great summer.
Just doesn't get any better! Each and every year the new stories and adventures are timeless. Thanks for everything to everyone who made our stay just fabulous darling.

"Gord really knows his way in the wilderness. His positive energy is very contagious. I definitely recommend a guided tour of the lakes with Gord, he will show you the hot spots to catch that big one i.e. 47" Northern. The facilities are very comfortable. When we were not fishing we were chilling in the hot tub or gazing into the beautiful scenery.

P.S. Gord is very easy to contact and very family orientated. I will definitely be seeing Yellow Dog Lodge again.
